Kube

I bought a Kube MP3 player. Pretty decent for the price. http://www.ollo.sg/specs.aspx

Ok, let’s run this through. No lcd screen. Old-school on/off slider, next and last track buttons that double as volume controls (holding them down). Play/pause button, doubles as shuffle button. Real tiny. Comes with 5 colours, black, white, blue, yellow, pink. Battery life of 6 hours (a little skimpy, but it’s a tradeoff).

Comes with usable earphones (no, really, they are usable). USB charger. 2GB MicroSD card and reader (keychain).

Available at all 7-11 stores in Singapore at $34.90.

My MicroSD card was faulty though. After hours of trying to salvage it, finally gave up. Still, pretty decent value, if ye stuff doesn’t die on you, that is. Recommendable though. I mean, c’mon. 2GB MicroSD with reader, around $10 worth. Slightly better than other stock earphones, at least worth another $10. Worth it, I say.

hey i bought the Kube recently too. i really like it. gd tt there isn’t any restrictions such as you can’t put songs in folder in the SD card etc unlike some stupid players [so many songs, ppl probably wanna folder them]. only problem i’ve is i duno how it reads the songs. how’s the playlist is like. played alphabetically? cos really hard to find certain songs i may wanna listen lol. other than that, i’d recommend ppl to buy it. super duper worth the $$ n if u’re in need of a mp3 yet dun wanna consider so much due to cost, just drop by a 7-11 store, get it n join the club!

A lot of negative comments about the Kube stem from the fact that they simply forget they only paid S$34.90 for one. Then again, their support… needs some work.

I find that my songs seem to be playing at the order in which I view them (alphabetical).

I haven’t tried if it will change if I change the order of arrangement when the microSD card is plugged in my computer.

that’s cool. cos i’ve really many songs to put in n i folder them by Mandarin, Japanese & Korean, Cantonese, English. But it doesn’t seem to be playing starting from Cantonese, English, Jap n Korean n Cantonese. since u’re saying it does play alphabetially, i’ll try putting them out altogether w/o any folders. will update if i do find any better ways of organizing. haha

Well, sometimes if you put it in your pocket the buttons get accidentally pressed, which is slightly annoying.

I’m assuming that your songs are of the supported file formats. I’m also assuming you already copied your songs onto your microSD card.

There is a possibility that either the player itself or the microSD card is faulty. If it’s a dead memory card, you can get another one and replace it (a one with the same 2GB storage will not cost much now). Either way, you could try to raise the issue at the 7-11 the Kube was purchased from (ask your dad), possibly for a one for one exchange (assuming you have the receipt).
