Chain messages/emails. They are often either rumours, gross exaggerations, or outright wild lies. So let’s see one I received just today.

Subject: Pls Copy & Paste and send to show that you are still active!!~Facebook is recently becoming very overpopulated, there have been many members
complaining that Facebook is becoming very slow. Records show that the reason is
that there are too many non-active Facebook members and, on the other side, too
many new Facebook members. We will be sending this message around to see if members are active or not. If
you are active please send to at least 15 other users using Copy+ Paste to show
that you are still active. *Those who do not send this message within 2 weeks
will be deleted without hesitation to create more space.*Send this message to all your friends and to show me that your still active and
you will not be deleted.Founder of Facebook,
Mark Zuckerberg

Oh boy, what do we have here? Honestly, I don’t see how people can fall for these things anymore.
Overpopulation? I’m pretty sure that, as a business, they will obviously expand the number of servers to respond to an explosive growth of users (growth is also slowing to stable levels if I remember right).
Very slow? I was under the impression that overall usability and speed of the interface has increased of late, not the opposite. I am also pretty sure non-active members, since they do not generate activity, do not burden the server as much as an active user.
When was the last time you saw company management sending legitimate messages to threaten to delete your account for inactivity so they can ‘create more space’ for new users? ‘Copy+ Paste’ indeed.
Lastly, I’m sure Mr. Zuckerberg employs people to send notifications.
Seriously, why do people fall for this?
